Part One - Probation
Academic Probation
What defines probation status?
When SF state GPA or All College GPA is below 2.0, a student is on academic probation.
Where will I see that I am on probation?
On my SFSU, check your unofficial transcript, and PROBATION will be printed next to each semester in which either GPA was under a 2.0.
How is a student released from probation?
By raising both your ALL COLLEGE and SF State GPA to 2.0, probation status is cleared.
To do this, students can either earn A's and B's in their current
classes, or in some cases, students may attempt to withdraw
retroactively from courses or semesters. (See an academic advisor
regarding this last option.)
Current students on probation received e-mails in February with instructions to meet with their advisors.
PLEASE
NOTE! Any student who is on probation for 3 consequtive semesters will
not be allowed to return to SF State until they bring up their GPA
elsewhere.
