Spring 2018 Admission
Undergraduate Students
Initial Application Period: August 1, 2017 - August 31, 2017.
Priority Application Deadline: August 31, 2017.

The following undergraduate majors have an application deadline of August 31, 2017 for Spring 2018. Broadcast Electronic Communication Arts, Child and Adolescent Development, Cinema
The following undergraduate majors will NOT be open for Spring 2018 admission.
Apparel Design and Merchandising, Biology (all concentrations), Chemistry and Biochemistry, Dietetics, Health Education, Industrial Design (all concentrations), Kinesiology (all concentrations), Nursing (APO RN to BSN programs), Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, and Visual Communication Design.

Students who missed the Spring 2018 application deadline or wish to apply to one of the majors listed above, can apply for Fall 2018 beginning on October 1, 2017. Please visit www.calstate.edu beginning October 1, 2017 to apply for Fall 2018.
International Students
International students (both graduate and undergraduate) may apply for Spring 2018 admission using the international application form on Cal State Apply.
SF State University will begin accepting applications from international students for the Spring 2018 term on August 1, 2017. Please read more about deadlines important to international students at: admissions.sfsu.edu/intl.
Graduate Students
SF State's Division of Graduate Studies will begin accepting applications for the Spring 2018 term on August 1, 2017. Spring deadlines for graduate programs vary by department, however graduate applicants are advised to submit all university and program application materials as early as possible. Fall 2018 Admission
Undergraduate Students
The initial application period for admission to the Fall 2018 term begins on October 1, 2017. The deadline to apply for Fall 2018 admission is December 15, 2017. Students interested in Fall 2018 should apply online at www.calstate.edu beginning on October 1, 2017.
The following undergraduate majors are impacted at SF State:
Apparel Design and Merchandising, Biology (all concentrations), Business Administration (accounting concentration only), Chemistry and Biochemistry, Dietetics, Environmental Studies (all concentrations), Health Education, Industrial Design (all concentrations), Kinesiology (all concentrations), Nursing (all programs), Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, and Visual Communication Design.

International Students

Accept Admission Offer & Pay $100 Enrollment Deposit
Students entering SF State in Fall 2018 must accept their admission offer and pay a non-refundable Enrollment Confirmation Deposit online between April 1-May 1. Students admitted after May 1 must accept their offer within two weeks of their admission date. To file your Accept Admission Offer please go to your Student Center on the SF State Gateway.
Students entering SF State in Spring 2018 must accept their admission offer and pay a non-refundable Enrollment Confirmation Deposit online between November 1-December 2. Apply for Campus Housing
At SF State on-campus housing is not required and not guaranteed. Applying for a space on campus is a separate process from the University admission. Housing spaces are accepted first-come, first served based on application dates and license agreement dates. Students are encouraged to apply for University housing as early as possible after you receive your SF State ID # via email from Undergraduate Admissions. Apply for Financial Aid
To receive financial aid, you must reapply using the FAFSA or CA Dream Application every year. The priority postmarked deadline is from January 1 to March 2 for the next academic year. For more information, visit the Financial Aid web site.
Sign up for Orientation
Orientation is the only way for new freshmen and transfer students to receive advising and early registration for classes. There are many dates for orientation on campus plus some Southern California dates. Sign up for orientation when you accept your offer of admission.
Note: For freshmen, early priority registration for classes and mandatory advising for freshmen happens at orientation. Students who fail to complete an orientation will not participate in Early Priority Registration for classes but will register last, after all other students have registered.
