Eligibility and Application Process

All SF State students enrolled in an academic program at the university and carrying a minimum of 12 units for undergraduates or 9 units for graduate students are eligible to live in the SF State University Housing Community.

The housing application process is separate from the university's academic admission process. Housing applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. San Francisco State does not guarantee housing to newly admitted students and does not give preference based on class level. Due to high demand for housing spaces in San Francisco, the residence community fills quickly. We strongly advise students to complete a housing application before being admitted to the university.

Applications are available on-line at www.sfsu.edu/~housing/.

Faculty, Staff and Student Housing at University Park Apartments

Situated on 24 beautiful acres adjacent to the Stonestown Galleria Shopping Center , University Park Apartments provides unfurnished apartments to SF State faculty, staff, and older students with families. The property boasts spectacular views of Lake Merced and the Pacific Ocean, and is only steps away from San Francisco State University main campus.

Applications for University Park Apartments are available by contacting the University Park Rental Office located at 21 Buckingham Way, San Francisco, CA 94132. Telephone (415) 564-4000 or e-mail univpark@sfsu.edu.

Residential Dining Services

The SF State dining program is one of the best reasons to become a member of the campus community. Three dining facilities are available to students who have a campus meal plan. The main dining room, City Eats, offers a large variety of menu selections. Cook-to-order stations cater to students' taste for fresh and nutritious selections, including grilled entrees, vegetarian dishes, and delicatessen items. CafĂ© in the Park (in Mary Park Hall) offers smoothies, coffee drinks, and breakfast-style sandwiches. The Bricks (in Mary Ward Hall) serves pizza, pasta and other Italian cuisine. Voluntary meal plans are available for students, faculty and staff who do not have meal plans included in their Housing fees.

Off-Campus Housing Resources

The University Housing web site offers extensive links to rental and roommate listings, descriptions of neighborhoods, contact information for apartment complexes, home-stay opportunities, and housing information for people with disabilities.
