Location
Founded in 1899, the SFSU campus is located on 96 acres in the southwest corner of San Francisco, one mile from the Pacific Ocean and 15 minutes from downtown. SFSU is located near Highway 1 and easily accessible by bus and rail service on Muni, SamTrans and BART. By Car:
From the North: Take Highway 101 South, cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Take 19th Avenue/Highway 1 exit. Follow 19th Avenue to campus at Holloway Avenue.
To get to the parking garage, turn right onto Holloway Ave and continue to Font Blvd. Turn right onto Font Blvd. and continue to Lake Merced Blvd. Turn right onto Lake Merced Blvd. then take an immediate right onto State Drive which is the entrance to the parking garage.
From the South: Take I-280 North, exit at 19th Avenue. Take Junipero Serra Boulevard to Holloway Avenue, turn left on Holloway Avenue to campus at 19th Avenue.
To get to the parking garage, continue on Holloway Ave to Font Blvd. Turn right onto Font Blvd. and continue to Lake Merced Blvd. Turn right onto Lake Merced Blvd. then take an immediate right onto State Drive which is the entrance to the parking garage.
From the East: Take I-80 West across the Bay Bridge to Highway 101 South. Take 101 South to I-280 toward Daly City. Take the San Jose Avenue/Mission St. exit (immediately after the Ocean Avenue exit), bearing right onto Sagamore Street to Brotherhood Way to Junipero Serra Boulevard North. Take Junipero Serra Boulevard to Holloway Avenue, turn left on Holloway Avenue to campus at 19th Avenue.
To get directly to the parking garage stay on Brotherhood Way and turn right onto Lake Merced Blvd. Turn right onto State Drive which is the third light after turning onto Lake Merced Blvd. and immediately after Font Blvd.
By Bus:
Free SFSU Shuttles will stop in the first bus bay on Daly City Bart station’s east side (where the Muni 28 Line buses currently stop). The 28 Line buses will stop just behind the shuttles, allowing SF State commuters to easily take either the 28 or the shuttle. By co-locating the 28 and shuttle stops, commuters’ wait times will be greatly reduced.
As a special note, For those arriving at Daly City BART Station via BART, please remember to take a free roundtrip Muni transfer, which is available inside the station just before exiting the fare gates. Save the return portion of the transfer to use on the 28 from campus back to Daly City BART.
Times of shuttle operation:
- Monday through Thursday: 7:00 am to 10:30pm
- Friday: 7:00 am to 7:15 pm.
- Schedule will be every 10 to 15 minutes.
- Shuttles stops: 19th Ave. and Daly City BART ONLY
From an Airport:
From SFO Airport: From the departure area take the I-280 North entrance. Take I-280 North, exit at 19th Avenue. Take Junipero Serra Boulevard to Holloway Avenue; turn left on Holloway Avenue to campus at 19th Avenue. From San Jose Airport: Go onto Airport Parkway then turn left onto Guadalupe Parkway. Take US-101 North. Take I-280 West/San Bruno exit. Take the I-280 North exit. Take I-280 North, exit at 19th Avenue. Take Junipero Serra Boulevard to Holloway Avenue; turn left on Holloway Avenue to campus at 19th Avenue.
From Oakland Airport: Take I-880 North towards Downtown Oakland. Take the I-80 West exit towards Bay Bridge/San Francisco. Continue on US-101 South. Take 101 South to I-280 toward Daly City. Take the San Jose Avenue/Mission St. exit (immediately after the Ocean Avenue exit), bearing right onto Sagamore Street to Brotherhood Way to Junipero Serra Boulevard North.
