Recent graduate was killed on 19th Avenue and Quintara early morning hours of May 26 

SAN FRANCISCO, May 28, 2003 - San Francisco State University is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver who struck and killed an SFSU graduate in the early morning hours of May 26.

Srijaya Dalton, 22, who received a bachelor’s degree in cinema and took part in commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 24, was walking near 19th Avenue and Quintara Street about 3 a.m. on Monday morning when she was struck by a car. The driver left the scene.

Dalton was pronounced dead later that morning at San Francisco General Hospital.

“We are grieved at this untimely death of a young graduate whose life had truly just begun,” said SFSU President Robert A. Corrigan. "She was, according to faculty members who knew her well, exceptionally promising. The real tragedy, however, lies not in the loss of talent, but of an individual life, particularly in this sad and solitary way.

“We offer this reward in the hope that it will prompt someone to provide law enforcement officials with information that will bring a measure of clarity and justice to the event that ended Srijaya's life,” Corrigan said.
