Jack R. Fraenkel has taught courses in research methodology for more than 30 years.  Until 2000, he was the Director of the Research and Development Center in the College of Education at San Francisco State.  He has written or edited more than 40 books and over 125 articles dealing with various topics in research design, statistics, curriculum and instruction.  His book on research methodology, How to Design and Evaluate Research in Education, co-authored with Professor Norman E. Wallen, is currently in its 6th edition and has been published not only in the United States, but also in several countries in Europe and Asia.  In 1997, he received the James A. Michener prize for his writings about the social studies and the social sciences.  His current work centers around advising and assisting faculty and students in generating and developing research endeavors.
