WHAT: San Francisco State University invites its campus neighbors and other
interested community members to review design concepts for its long-term
master plan. An open house will be held April 13 for interested individuals
to review concepts and discuss them with University officials.
WHERE: Lobby of the Administration building, San Francisco State University, 1600 Holloway Ave. (at 19th Avenue), San Francisco. WHY: Universities periodically embark on campus master plans to anticipate future needs and explore options for meeting those needs. San Francisco State University’s plan will involve a thorough evaluation of physical resources, from buildings and green spaces to transportation routes, and programmatic needs. It will result in proposed improvements that enable the campus to meet demands for access and provide a high-quality university education. WHO: All members of the campus community and general public are urged to participate by sharing opinions, ideas and feedback. INFORMATION: Visit SFSU’s master plan Web site -- http://sfsumasterplan.org/ -- for details on the project and to give feedback to the steering committee. SFSU is the only master’s level public university serving the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin. The University enrolls about 29,000 students each year and graduates about 7,000 annually. With nationally acclaimed programs in a range of fields — from creative writing, cinema and biology to history, broadcast and electronic communication arts, theatre arts and ethnic studies — the University’s more than 150,000 graduates have contributed to the economic, cultural and civic fabric of San Francisco and beyond. -###-
