Summer Oceanography Adventure program offers lessons on land and at sea for high school students
The seven-day introduction to the physical and biological oceanography of the San Francisco Bay is at SFSU's Romberg Tiburon Center for Environmnetal Studies in Tiburon, Calif. During the nine-day voyage aboard Seaward students collect oceanographic data from the bay and along the California coast. Students will also learn to operate the vessel (both its research equipment and its sails) and act as student crew. During the final two days students analyze and report on scientific data. Students will discover a new way of learning while being challenged academically and physically. WHEN: July 10-28, 2006 WHO: High school juniors, seniors and recent graduates.
