Award-winning students to watch debate on campus, then discuss each candidate's performance WHAT: The team, made up of a diverse group of students from varied backgrounds, will watch the debate live from campus and then discuss each candidate's performance. Earlier this year, the Speech and Debate team brought home the first-place trophy for sweepstakes in the Western region and ranked 24th nationally at the Cross Examination Debate Association National Tournament held in Louisville, Ky. The team finished ahead of such competitors as Stanford University, Northwestern University, University of Southern California and Georgetown University. SFSU has won many debates and individual events over the years, including the 2001 National Forensics Association championship in duo oral interpretation. The team defeated Stanford last year, Dartmouth in 2002 and Harvard in 2001. WHO:
