Symone's Voice

How have increased tuition fees impacted you and your family?:
At this stage in my life having a college education has been a lifelong dream of mine. Starting college at a late age in life and with a major disability has not detoured my efforts; yet I now find myself worrying about being able to financial afford my dream. Being diagnosed with a major heart issue has left me relying heavily upon a fixed-income. Being capable of affording a college education, in hopes of caring for myself in the future, could not be accomplished without the aid of financial assistance. Constant rising cost in tuition is defiantly putting a strain on my efforts. I am forced to increase the amount of student loans I borrow each semester. Though I am grateful for the ability to borrow funds to help pay for my education, what will be the cost to me in the end. There are so many things to consider. Once I have graduated, how easy it will be able to afford the necessities of live, health care, and the repayment of my loans. Now I am aware that my financial and health issues are my concerns and mine alone, but how difficult must it continually be with the continuous mounting cost of education.

What are you studying at SF State and what do you hope to do once you graduate?:
I am an Information Systems Major at SFSU. I hope to work in the management of Database designs once I graduate.
