Arthur 's Voice

How have increased tuition fees impacted you and your family?:
Starting off my college career at a local community college, I was able to work while going to school and pay all of the costs of tuition and living by myself. However, transferring to SFSU, I experienced the reality of high tuition first hand and now am unable to carry my weight like I was before. It is simply too expensive to go to school full time and juggle a job to pay for everything. Even though it is possible to get a full time job, that kind of a life is unfair to the student and I don¿t think I would be able to get the grades I want. Right now I am receiving help from my parents but will eventually end up taking out a loan. Although I understand the risks and do not wish to over burden myself, getting a loan is the only way to finish school off as quickly as possible

What are you studying at SF State and what do you hope to do once you graduate?:
I am majoring in international business and minoring in Japanese. Using my fluency in both languages, I hope to be part of a bridge between business transactions of Japan and the United States.
