Brief Description of Proposal:

The use of standardized platforms, hardware (both vendors and models) as well as associated software has saved the college tens of thousands of dollars yearly. In addition to the savings it has also provided quicker service turnaround times as well as the reduced the cost of the number of technicians needed to service the college due to training only being needed in one platform. Having standard hardware makes replacement part availability quicker for machines out of warranty as well as those who need functional units quickly. Having standardized software eliminates many issues with units, makes licensing easier and cheaper. Also technicians have a better understanding of the software we have standardized on therefore quicker resolution of issues as well as less issues to begin with.
