Proposal Title: College wide Intranet System
Anticipated Savings/Revenue:
Time savings for faulty & staff due to keeping things organized for them as well as proved a central location for everything they need to do their daily work.
Units affected:
College of Health and Human Services Information Technology Department has currently implement these and could potentially benefit other units/areas.
Impacted Degrees/Courses: None directly but due to cost savings and faculty efficiency it may.
Brief Description of Proposal:
Having implemented an Intranet system for the college has increased efficiency and productivity tremendously. The best part is the startup cost -- Nothing! This intranet which is password protected and SSL encrypted includes: Internal news & announcements, useful contacts/links, CHHS master calendar, Ready to fill out Forms (Many internally generated due to need), All of our policies and procedures as well as the IT manual for supported items and such. Wireless info, VPN info, Inventory info, PC labs schedules, Server status page and much more. In addition fiscal services and operations have large areas as well as each department now has a section where they can post things for all their faculty to see. All they need is a web browser and an account to view this info from anywhere in the world.
