Proposal #26

Proposal Title:     Cigaretter Income

Anticipated Savings/Revenue:  income increase

Units affected:  not applicable

Impacted Degrees/Courses: none

Brief Description of Proposal:

For a "smoke-free" campus, there is not only a remaining hard core group, but smoking has increased to the point where one cannot walk on campus without breathing smoke.  Police or some assigned group could 'ticket' people.  It could start off small, $5 first time, but then double with each ticket, or triple.  So, this would provide some income, although if too successful, it would only be transitional but at least the campus would act to enforce its own rules.
