Proposal #2
Proposal Title: University Flea Market/Garage Sale
Anticipated Savings/Revenue: Estimated thousands per event
Units affected: Parking & Transportation, University Police
Impacted Degrees/Courses: None
Brief Description of Proposal:
City College of San Francisco did their first garage sale in their large parking lots many months ago to generate additional funding for the college. It was largely a success for both the college and public; the college sold parking spaces for residents to sell their items, and the public benefited with people selling their items and finding a bargain.
De Anza College also hosts a huge flea market and their website claims they have raised $300,000 in a year; including charging the public for parking.

The University should consider a similar option in using lot 20's roof, lot 19 behind the 7-Hills Conference Center, on North State Drive during a Saturday or Sunday when the parking stalls are not utilized. If it is during the summer, utilize Lot 25 since the student resident population is very low.
