CISFSU Celebrate Spring Festival With City Eats Dining Center at SF State

San Francisco, Feb 19th 2015

       February 19, 2015. Confucius Institute jointly hosted a new year feast for Staff and students at San Francisco State University with City Eats Dining Center. Decorated with red lanterns, auspicious spring couplets, delicate paper cuts, mysterious stone lions, exotic opera masks, exquisite new-year paintings, and carefully arranged show tables, the whole dining center is filled with the festival spirits. Over one thousand participants enjoyed delicious Chinese food accompanied by exciting traditional Chinese music.
        Three AVP of S F State, Dr. Yenbo Wu, Mrs. Ann Sherman, and Mr. Michael Martin; Consul Zhengwen Chen, Consul Yong Wang from Consulate General of People’s Republic of China in San Francisco; colleagues from Office of International Programs and Chinese Department and staff from various departments and colleges, represents of Chinese students and visiting scholars; teachers and students from Confucius Institute all participated in this grand celebration. They joined the fun of making dumplings, viewing the brochures about CI events and gladly engaging in conversations with staff at Confucius Institute.
        Confucius Institute at SF State always believes in the idea of serving the community with a strong base on campus. Apart from offering free non-credit Chinese courses to staffs and faculties and exciting cultural events, CISFSU reached out to new partners like City Eats Dinning Center. The celebrations for Spring Festival provided the best opportunity for communities on campus to better interpret Chinese Culture and extended understanding of Confucius Institute.

旧金山州大孔院与学校餐饮集团联合举办羊年新春文化节

        美西当地时间2015年2月19日傍晚,正值中国羊年春节,旧金山州立大学孔子学院与州大餐饮集团City Eats Dining Center 为州大师生提供了一场浓浓中国年味的文化大餐。高高悬挂的灯笼,红通通的福字与对联,精美的窗花,威严的石狮,别致的京剧脸谱,充满童趣的年画,飞龙在天的黑板画,精心布置的孔院展台,欢快的中国民族乐曲,热气腾腾的中国饺子工作台,就餐台玻璃上丰富的中文吉祥语……City Eats Dining Center就餐大厅充满着中国春节气氛,深深的吸引着近千名前来就餐的旧金山州大师生与嘉宾,不少人情不自禁地拿出手机开心地拍照纪念。



        旧金山州大三位分管国际教育、人事及行政管理的副校长(吴彦伯、Ann Sherman、 Michael Martin)、中国驻旧金山总领馆教育组陈正文领事与王勇领事、州大国际部、中文部、教育学院、和多个相关行政部门的嘉宾、旧金山州大中国留学生与访问学者部分代表,孔子学院的学员等,与旧金山州大孔院共同欢度春节。孔子学院的学员们和中国访问学者一起饶有兴致地包着饺子,吸引了州大师生排着长长的队伍来领取、品尝着中国饺子等多种美食。不少师生对孔院展台的介绍产生兴趣,翻阅展台的宣传册,与孔院工作人员进行愉快的交流。


        旧金山州大孔院一直秉承“立足本校、服务社区”的办院理念,除了为本校教职员工开设免费非学分中文课程、为本校师生提供多种文化演出等活动以外,此次与学校餐饮集团City Eats Dining Center的第一次密切合作,探索了旧金山州大孔院融入本校的新途径,让州大师生在品尝中国美食的过程中零距离地感受中国最重要的节日文化,增进了州大师生对孔院与中国文化的了解。
