YCT Test 中小学生汉语考试

Approved by the Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), the Confucius Institute at SF State became one of the Testing Centers for YCT (Young Learners Chinese Test) in May 2009. The CI at SF State is authorized to host YCT for all non-native Chinese learners under the age of 15 in Northern California.

On May 31, 2009, the CI at SF State, associated with the Long River Culture & Education Foundation, held the first YCT test at Washington High School in Fremont, California. The test was taken place in 15 classes, with 354 K-7 students from local schools registered for Chinese courses at Yellow River and Long River Chinese Schools participating in it. Among them, 132 students took YCT-Level 1 test; 124 students took YCT-Level 2 test; 98 students took YCT-Level 3 test. The YCT was successfully concluded. All participating students, parents and teachers expected that more opportunities would be available for all young students to assess their Chinese proficiency. The testing results will be published on Hanban’s website in a few weeks.

The YCT test consists of Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. For detailed information about this test, please check the Hanban website: http://english.hanban.org/hanyukaoshi_more.php?ithd=sehyksyct

The CI at SF State is planning to host two YCT tests in 2009, one in May and prospectively another in November. All non-native Chinese learners under 15 from Northern California are welcome to take the YCT test. We would publish the information regarding YCT test in November 2009 on this website soon.
