Making a black and white photocopy of the campus map
The downloadable PDF of the campus map—either color or black and white—is designed to produce a high-quality print from your laser or inkjet printer. However, when you reproduce that print on a copy machine important detail can be lost.
What is happening is that the dot resolution of your printer (either 300 or 600 dpi, or dots per inch) is too high for the copy machine to read. For better results, reduce the resolution of your print (make the dots bigger) so that the copy machine can reproduce it more accurately. Check your print settings and see if you can lower the resolution to 72 or use the "low resolution" option, if available.
If you need to make multiple copies of the map, the best way to ensure quality is to print rather than copy them.
