Purpose: To prepare students from underrepresented groups (African-American, Native American, Hispanic American and Pacific Islanders) for biomedical careers by providing academic support and a stimulating research experience. The goal of the MARC program is to prepare each participant for entrance into a competitive graduate program and successful completion of a Ph.D. in the biomedical or physical sciences.

• $10,956/yr and 60% of tuition for the Junior and Senior years
• Summer Research Internship at SFSU after Sophomore year
• Summer Research at a major research institution after Junior year
• Travel to a major scientific meeting to share research results

*Junior is defined as being 2 (two) years from graduation.

*Senior is defined as being 1 (one) year from graduation.
