About Us
The Campus Recreation Department offers a variety of recreational and fitness activities to the campus community. All SF State students, faculty and staff are eligible to participate in Campus Recreation programs and services. Come and join one of our many fitness and wellness classes, take part in our Intramural Sports, or just drop into the Gymnasium for some informal recreation activities like: Basketball, Swimming, Strength Training, Cardio and much, much more.
Our Programs
Fitness/Wellness Take advantage of our comprehensive fitness and wellness program designed to promote personal growth through physical activity. We offer a variety of fitness and wellness classes ranging from Yoga to Cardio Boot Camp. All levels are welcome!
Informal Recreation Drop-in to the weight room for a cardio or resistance training workout! In addition to individual use, we also offer weight room orientation and assistance developing your individualized workout. Want to play a game of basketball, volleyball, or badminton? It’s easy, just drop into the gymnasium for a pick-up game at any of the regularly scheduled times.
Aquatics Visit the pool and take advantage of our expanded aquatics program. We offer daily lap swimming, recreational swim, and a variety of aquatic fitness classes. Our classes range from Stroke Development to Aqua Aerobics. Whether you are looking to increase your endurance, tone-up, or simply learn some new strokes, our Red Cross Certified instructors are here to help you. Drop in and join us!
Intramural Sports This program offers students an opportunity to participate in structured sport activities. Our philosophy is to promotes fair play, good sportsmanship, team values, and a positive healthy experience through sport. Intramurals sport leagues are offered every Fall and Spring semester. Leagues are divided into Men’s, Women’s and Coed divisions. Sports include indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, and tennis.
Sport Clubs Unlike intramurals, the sport club program offers students an opportunity to compete on a local, regional and national level. Clubs are organized, governed, and managed by student leadership. Sport club teams have the unique ability to join competitive leagues comprised of other university teams and even possibly win regional or national championships.
