MUNI M Ocean View and K Ingleside Service Restoration
Effective Saturday, September 4, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which operates Muni, will be completing the Saint Francis Circle Rail Replacement Project and the restoration of Muni rail service on both the K Ingleside and M Ocean View lines.
For more information, including an updated service frequency guide, visit www.sfmta.com, or call 311.
SF State Shuttle Relocated at Daly City BART Station
In order to improve the commute between the Daly City BART Station and campus, the University has worked with BART and SFMTA to relocate the SF State shuttle stop at the station. Shuttles will now stop in the first bus bay on the station’s east side (where the Muni 28 Line buses currently stop). The 28 Line buses will stop just behind the shuttles, allowing SF State commuters easily to take either the 28 or the shuttle. By co-locating the 28 and shuttle stops, commuters’ wait times will be greatly reduced. For those arriving at Daly City BART Station via BART, please remember to take a free roundtrip Muni transfer, which is available inside the station just before exiting the fare gates. Save the return portion of the transfer to use on the 28 from campus back to Daly City BART.
Shuttle service begins on Tuesday, August 24, 2010.
M-Line Light Rail Service Temporarily Replaced with Buses
Muni’s M-Line light rail service between West Portal and Balboa Park Stations, both outbound and inbound, has been suspended throughout the summer due to a construction project to upgrade St. Francis Circle. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has been operating alternative service via bus from West Portal Station (outbound) and from Balboa Park Station (inbound) to the campus. Buses from West Portal stop at the University’s main entrance at 19th and Holloway, just in front of the Station Café. Buses to West Portal stop on the east side of the 19th Avenue, just north of Holloway.
The SFMTA anticipates that it will resume M-Line light rail service in early September. It will post information about service resumption in its stations. More information about the project, including a complete description of all available Muni service, can be found at: www.sfmta.com/stfranciscircle. For trip planning assistance, contact 511.
Parking on 19th Avenue
For those arriving at SF State via automobile and seeking to park along 19th Avenue, please note that the SFMTA has made the east side of 19th Avenue between Holloway Avenue and Winston Drive a no parking zone. Cars parked in this area may be ticketed and/or towed. Parking is available on campus. For more information see http://www.sfsu.edu/~parking/text/parking.html.

SF State Shuttle service

MUNI SCHEDULE CHANGES UPDATE
MTA will stop service on May 17 as planned, but offer it on Commencement Day. It will then stop again—to be replaced by bus bridges—on May 23. MTA will also offer the bus bridge on Commencement Day to ensure that those who’d relied on buses the previous week have the ability to continue to do so.
MUNI SCHEDULE CHANGES
On May 8, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which operates the Municipal Railway (Muni), will implement MUNI SCHEDULE CHANGES which include reduced frequencies and shorter hours of operation on many bus routes and rail lines. For details on specific schedule changes please visit www.sfmta.com.
In addition to the schedule changes, preliminary work on the St. Francis Circle Rail Replacement Project is also set to start on May 8. Muni rail service on the M Ocean View and the K Ingleside lines will be suspended on May 8 and May 9 to allow for a temporary crossover to be installed on West Portal Avenue. Rail service will be restored from May 10 through May 16 and then suspended again on May 17 for the duration of construction. While construction is underway, rail service between West Portal Station and Balboa Park BART/Muni Station will be replaced by K and M line substitute bus service. For details on the bus substitute service please visit www.sfmta.com/stfranciscircle.
For trip planning and assistance in other languages, please call 311. For bus and rail schedules and arrival/departure times by transit stop location, dial 511.

Major Muni Service Changes Effective December 5th
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which operates Muni, will implement extensive changes to its transit services beginning Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 to help bridge a $129 million budget deficit. Specifically, service on more than half of Muni's routes and one rail line, the N Judah, will change. While some of these changes entail eliminating routes and/or route segments and reductions in service hours, we are also fortunate to offer our customers enhanced services on many routes serving the City's busiest corridors.
Know your options. To find out if your route is changing, please visit the SFMTA Web site at www.sfmta.com or call 311 for trip planning and assistance in other languages.
