You must complete SEVIS I-20 transfer procedure whenever you change educational institutions,
change levels of study (i.e. move from a bachelor鈥檚 degree program to a master鈥檚 degree program
at the same or different school), or transfer from PCPT to another program of study.
You must notify your current institution of your intent to transfer, obtain a I-20 from the new institution, and report to the International Student Advisor at the new school within 15 days of the program start date listed on the I-20.
To request a SEVIS I-20 transfer, please submit the following documents to an International Student Advisor at OIP during the drop-in hours:

- A photocopy of the admission/acceptance letter from the school you transfer to
- A COMPLETED Transfer out form
Notes:
- If you can not decide your SEVIS release date, speak to an International Student Advisor at OIP.
- If you decide to cancel your SEVIS transfer, you must notify an International Student Advisor BEFORE your SEVIS release date.
- Once the transfer release date has been reached, OIP will no longer have access to your SEVIS record. Your new school will only be able to issue an I-20 on or after the SEVIS release date.
- Students who are on Post-Completion Practical Training (PCPT): Your PCPT ends on the transfer release date.
