Gilles Apap has rounded up a group of friends and returns to the Morrison Artists’ Series with a multi-national musical experience. The performance begins at 3 p.m. Sunday in McKenna Theater in the Creative Arts building. Admission is free.

Apap, a violinist and fiddler, will perform with Chinese er hu player Xiaoli Zhang-King, pianist Miwa Gofuku and Indian violinist Angsumala Tamag for an afternoon of world traditional, folk and classical music in the McKenna Theater of the Creative Arts Building.

Born in Algeria and raised in Nice, Apap is now based in California, but tours and teaches worldwide. In the coming months, he will perform throughout Europe.

The Morrison Artists’ Series, a part of the Morrison Chamber Music Center, presents six free performances each year. The Center also operates an instructional program, which coaches chamber musicians in the SFSU music program. The Center is funded through a grant from the May Treat Morrison estate.
