Welcome to the newly created web page for graduates of the SFSU Geography Department! The "rebirth" of the idea for an alumni group came out of a long talk I had with Professor Nancy Wilkinson (and now Department Chair!) on a long, but beautiful, drive back from our Mono Lake field trip. Although my stay in the department was a brief two years, it always seemed to me that Geography attracted the most interesting and enthusiastic people from the University. I hope that this new group can help past and future alumni exchange information about graduate schools, careers and life experiences.......so we can continue to help each other. I am soliciting input from everybody regarding the content of this page and of future electronic newsletters. Some ideas:
I have been attempting to contact people via
email and will soon be trying through a mailing. If you have any suggestions
or want to update your email address/mailing address from the department's
old list, please do so!!! I can be reached by email or mail. Of course,
I have to solicit assitance from any interested person, especially if you
have special web design talents. If you are still in contact with any other
alumni, please send them my way.
Feride Serefiddin (MA '98) - Doctoral student at McMaster University, Ontario, Canada doing research in the geochronology and stable isotope geochemistry of speleothem. I'm also doing side projects in karst geomorphology and GIS hydrologic modelling.
