Nick Alvarez, Philosophy graduate student

 

Nick grew up in Santa Cruz, California and is a first generation college student. He is currently finishing his master's degree in philosophy at San Francisco State University, where he also completed his undergraduate work in philosophy and psychology. In Summer 2013, Nick will be conducting research with Josh Knobe at Yale University as a part of his Pre-Doctoral Scholars award. In Fall 2013, Nick will begin work on his PhD in Philosophy at Brown University.

Nick's research interests are located (broadly speaking) in the philosophy of mind and meta-ethics. He teaches Introduction to Critical Thinking and Political and Social Philosophy at San Francisco State University.

Nick's favorite animal is the tiger.
