Program Purpose
The Saxe Memorial Fund was established to honor J. W. Saxe, who believed in the need for persons of integrity to serve their countries and communities through public service. Saxe worked with the United Nations, the Agency for International Development, and the World Bank.
Program Description
The $2,000 prize is to undergraduate and graduate students to enable them to gain practical experience in public service by taking a no-pay or low-pay job or internship during a summer or other term.
Applicant Profile
Preference is given applicants who have already found such a position but require additional funds. Successful applicants will have financial need and a demonstrated commitment to public service.
Eligibility
Undergraduate or graduate students.
Citizenship
Students of any nationality may apply.
