Program Website

AAJA's mission is to encourage Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) to enter the ranks of journalism, to work for fair and accurate coverage of AAPIs, and to increase the number of AAPI journalists and news managers in the industry. Each year AAJA offers scholarships to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing careers in print, broadcast or photo journalism. Recent scholarships have been $1,000 and up. Different selection criteria and eligibility requirements may apply to some scholarships to reflect the spirit of each award. There are generally no nationality restrictions associated with AAJA scholarships. Deadlines are generally in the Spring.
