Tutoring
The Tutorial Unit is entrusted with the responsibility of designing consistent program support and service/learning strategies for students. The Unit provides an extended study environment, with program staff support to work with students in weekly scheduled, individualized sessions: step-by-step sequence lessons and handouts are utilized to set up a developmental pattern for retention. The Unit''s mission is to help students become motivated and to plan intelligently for college coursework.
Tutoring is available for over 200 classes in a variety of disciplines including English, math, business, social science and science. Other academic support services include study groups, study skills (note taking and time management) and various other workshops (JEPET). All EOP students are eligible to receive Free Tutoring.
To Apply: Students need to pick up a tutorial application from the EOP office and return it as soon as possible, since tutoring is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. After your tutorial application is received and processed, you will receive a notice of your assigned tutoring schedule (2-3 days for processing).
