The College of Education is
a professional college dedicated to the education of
new and experienced teachers, administrators, and other
education specialists. Our programs prepare students
for basic teaching credentials in elementary education,
middle level/secondary education, educational administration,
and adult education. In addition we offer a range of
Master's Degree programs as well as two Joint Doctoral
Programs, one in Special Education(in collaboration
with UC Berkeley), and one in Educational Leadership
(in collaboration with UC Berkeley, CSU Hayward, San
Jose State University).
A major goal of the College of Education is to improve
access to all of our programs. This goal represents
a part of our mission to prepare competent, capable,
and motivated educators who provide effective services
to individuals and their families, especially for those
residing in ethnically and racially diverse communities.
