Salve!

The Department of Classics, part of the College of Humanities, offers a BA in Classical languages, a BA in Classical Archaeology, as well as an MA in Classics; we have minors in Classics, Classical Archaeology, and Ancient Mediterranean Studies. In addition to courses in Classical languages, Greek, Latin, and special studies in Sanskrit, we offer a range of courses in archaeology (Greek, Roman, Near Eastern, and Egyptian) and in literature in translation.

  • A provisional schedule for Fall 2009 is posted on our "Course Schedule" page
  • The Classics Students Association Spring Lecture Series, on the theme of Drama and Performance in Antiquity, will be held on the evenings of April 8, 22, 29 and May 6. All lectures are free, open to the public, and will be held at 7:00 PM in Humanities 587. Reception to follow.
