700 Graduate Studies (0)

Prerequisites: advancement to candidacy for the master's degree and prior approval of the Dean of Graduate Division. Course is designed for the purpose of allowing students to be enrolled in the university and thereby officially eligible to use institutional facilities (e.g., the library, laboratories) required or necessary to complete their academic objectives.

894 Creative Work Project (3)

Prerequisite: classified status in Special Major master's degree program. An original creative work project generally in a fine or applied arts area such as film, exhibit, performance, etc. It must be described in a written document that summarizes the project's significance, objectives, creative methodology employed, and a conclusion or recommendation. Graduate Approved Program and Proposal for Culminating Experience Requirement forms must be approved by the Graduate Division before registration.

895 Field Study Project (3)

Prerequisite: classified status in Special Major master's degree program. A field study or applied research project which must result in a completed written work that as a minimum includes the project's significance, objectives, methodology, and conclusion or recommendation. Graduate Approved Program and Proposal for Culminating Experience Requirement forms must be approved by the Graduate Division before registration.

898 Master's Thesis (3)

Prerequisites: advancement to candidacy for the master's degree and consent of the chair of the candidate's committee. An intensive, systematic study of a significant topic or problem focusing on the theme of the problem of the Special Major. The final written work must evidence originality, critical and independent thinking, appropriate organization and methodology, clarity of purpose, thorough documentation, and relevant conclusions. Graduate Approved Program and Proposal for Culminating Experience Requirement forms must be approved by the Graduate Division before registration.

899 Special Study (1-3)

Prerequisites: must be classified in the Special Major master's degree program and have the consent of the graduate major adviser and the Dean of the Graduate Division. Intensive study of a problem or topic which is planned, developed, and completed under the direction of a graduate faculty member. Students must have demonstrated ability to do independent work. Enrollment by special petition.
