300 Introduction to Cultural Awareness (3)
Prerequisite: ENG 114 or equivalent. Introduces students to an appreciation of cultural differences and an understanding in particular of ethnocentrism—its historical bases and its manifestations in the students themselves and in others. Special emphasis on problems in communication which arise from cultural differences.
600 Culminating Seminar (3)
Prerequisites: IS 300 and a minimum of nine units completed in Intercultural Skills minor. Students design, research, and share individual or group projects on topics relating to intercultural awareness and communication.
