S W 780 : Global Poverty

Prerequisites: SW 770.
Description: Examination of perspectives on causes of poverty and theoretical frameworks that inform anti-poverty programs; measures and indicators of poverty throughout the world. Application of a "poverty aware" approach to individual practice, and methods of using community organizing to design of anti-poverty programs. (Plus-minus letter grade only.)
