PHIL 890 : Environmental Ethics

Prerequisites: Graduate standing or consent of instructor.
Description: Examination of main theoretical positions in environmental ethics, including anthropocentrism, animal liberation, ecocentrism, as well as feminist, anti-racist, and postcolonial critiques of these positions. Emphasis on practical value of environmental ethics for contemporary environmental issues.
