SOC 492 : Sociology of Art

Prerequisites: Completion of SEG 1, including ENG 214 or equivalent; upper division standing.
Description: Sociological perspectives on the social production, distribution, and consumption of art; art as an expression of collective identity; art as signifier of the meanings human beings attribute to the social world; and the relationship between art and social change.
