OCN 410 : Coastal Processes

Prerequisites: MATH 226 and PHYS 111 or PHYS 220; or consent of instructor.
Description: Dynamics of the nearshore ocean and interactions with the coast and beaches. Topics include tides, coastal waves and currents, sediment transport and beaches, inner shelf processes, and estuarine dynamics. Paired with OCN 710. Students who have completed OCN 710 may not take OCN 410 for credit. Classwork, 2 units; laboratory and fieldwork, 1 unit. [Formerly GEOL 452. Not open to students who have completed GEOL 452.]
