Description: Origins of the Dada movement in Zurich in 1916, the spread of Dada throughout Europe and the U.S., the political and aesthetic positions taken by Dada poets and painters, and the eventual emergence of a Surrealist movement in Paris in 1924. Surrealist poetry, painting, film, and other media is examined in the context of this movement.
