Physics Readiness General Information

In addition to meeting course prerequisites, students wishing to enroll in Physics 111 or Physics 220 must demonstrate adequate preparation in mathematics by achieving a satisfactory score on the Physics Readiness Exam.  The test takes 50 minutes and is a multiple choice exam.  No calculators or other outside aids are allowed.   The passing score is established each semester by department faculty and is based on our experience with student learning outcomes.  A passing test score is valid for one year and may be taken once per testing period.  Students are encouraged to prepare for the Physics Readiness Exam either through independent review or by taking Math 199 (previously numbered Math 109) or its equivalent.   See the department website for further information.
