Media Advisory: Sex therapist "Dr. Ruth" visits SF State to lecture on sexual literacy

 

WHAT:

Ruth Westheimer, better known as "Dr. Ruth," will deliver a lecture on sexual literacy to students and the campus community at San Francisco State University. As a sex therapist, educator and author "Dr. Ruth" has promoted the concept of sexual literacy, which means having the tools, resources and knowledge to promote lifelong sexual learning, well-being and happiness.

This lecture coincides with Westheimer being honored by the National Sexuality Resource Center (NSRC) at SF State at the annual Champions of Sexual Literacy Dinner on Oct. 23. The NSRC equips advocates, academics and researchers with the knowledge, skills and resources to improve lifelong sexual literacy and sexual well-being for all Americans.

The lecture is sponsored by the National Sexuality Resource Center in collaboration with the Student Health Center and seven student groups.
