High school students and their robots compete for bragging rights and college scholarships

WHAT: San Francisco State University School of Engineering Robotics Competition

Bay Area high school students square off in bouts with their homemade mini-sumo robots. Scholarships to be awarded after the competition will be provided by the Gannon Foundation and the Nicholas Fund of the Society of American Military Engineers.

WHEN: 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Feb. 24

WHERE: Jack Adams Hall, top floor of Cesar Chavez Student Center at SFSU, 1600 Holloway Ave. (at 19th Ave.), San Francisco

WHO: High schools represented include Alhambra, Abraham Lincoln, Bridgemont, California, Concord, John O'Connell, Miramonte, Monte Vista, Phillip and Sala Burton, Pittsburg, San Jose High Academy, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Sir Frances Drake and Stevenson.
