His third book on screenwriting, it is a sequel to his 2011 book "Write What You Don’t Know: An Accessible Manual for Screenwriters," which was adopted as a textbook by a number of film schools and was published in a Chinese-language edition. In 2014, Hoxter co-edited a scholarly collection on the history of screenwriting for the "Behind the Silver Screen" series from Rutgers University Press.
