Anthropology
Associate Professor of Anthropology Mariana Leal Ferreira's book Acting for Indigenous Rights: Theater to Change The World was published (University of Minnesota Human Rights Center, 2013). The book is designed for use in conjunction with training and outreach activities to create information and popular education materials designed to raise awareness of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Professor of Creative Writing Paul Hoover edited the new edition of the anthology Postmodern American Poetry (W.W. Norton, March 2013).
Gerontology
Professor of Gerontology Brian de Vries co-presented the poster "HIV and Aging: A Survey in the San Francisco Area" at the annual meeting of the American Society on Aging in Chicago in early March.
Professor of Gerontology Anabel Pelham co-authored "Professionalizing Gerontology: Why AGHE Must Accredit Gerontology Programs," which was published in Gerontology and Geriatrics Education.
