Dorothy Danielson
Dorothy Danielson, professor emerita of English, passed away Jan. 31. Danielson was first appointed in the Department of English Language and Literature in 1962, and retired in 1983. She was the founding co-coordinator of the department's English as a Second Language Program, and was instrumental in establishing what is now the Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

A celebration of Danielson's life will be held at the Maritime Museum Library in Fort Mason Center (Building E, third floor) on March 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. Those who cannot attend but would like to contribute a remembrance to be read at the gathering may send it to kwolf@ccsf.edu  or dennis.debiase@cdcr.ca.gov
