Professor of Anthropology Bernard Wong was chosen to be a Distinguished Speaker of the World Congress of the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences to be held in Kunming, China, July 15-23.
Creative Writing
Peter Orner, associate professor of creative writing, has a new book that tells the stories of undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. Orner compiled and edited "Underground America: Narratives of Undocumented Lives" (McSweeney's, 2008) in collaboration with graduate students from SF State's Creative Writing Program, as well as volunteer lawyers, writers and independent film makers.
