Social Work
Assistant Professor of Social Work Rashmi Gupta received a plaque for being a plenary speaker at the ICFAI Conference in Ahmedabad, India, in December 2007.

Jocelyn Hermoso, assistant professor of social work, was awarded the Frank Turner Prize 2006 for the best article in Volume 49 of International Social Work. The article was titled "Civil Society's Role in Promoting Local Development in Countries in Transition: A Comparative Study of the Philippines and Romania."

Theatre Arts
Claire Rice, theatre arts lecturer and office assistant, is director of "Serve By Expiration" presented by the Thunderbird Theatre Co. in San Francisco through March 15.

Music
Andrew Speight
, music lecturer, hosts a Jazz Workshop each Monday evening in March at Shanghai 1930 in San Francisco.

Holistic Healing
Eric Peper, professor and co-director of the Institute for Holistic Healing Studies, co-authored "Current and future status of biofeedback in Taiwan," which appeared in Biofeedback, 35(4), 122-125.
