Business
Dean of the College of Business Linda Oubre was recognized by Watermark, a Bay Area women's executive group, as one of the Watermark Women Who Has Made Her Mark in 2013. The award recognizes Oubre as a thought leader and innovator in her field, her contributions of time and energy to improve the quality of lives for others in the community, her active support for the advancement of women and her approachable, humble and personable way. Watermark will formally present the award to Oubre at their 20th Anniversary Celebration on Dec. 3.

Design and Industry
Assistant Professor of Design and Industry Joshua Singer presented "Crafting Stories about Water and the City: Transdisciplinary Design Collaboration for Social Impact, and Pedagogical Methods" Oct. 11 at the American Institute of Graphic Arts biennial national conference in Minneapolis.

Theatre Arts
Professor of Theatre Arts Jo Tomalin presented a series of workshops titled "The Art of Teaching: Theatre Techniques for the Classroom" at University College, London University, England on July 10-12 and 17-19.

Urban Studies and Planning
Professor Emeritus of Urban Studies and Planning Debbie LeVeen delivered the keynote address at "Take Charge of Your Health," a public forum at Oakland Technical High School on Sept. 21
