Biology
Biology Lecturer Gloria Nusse's facial reconstruction of a teenage boy from his 4,000 year-old skeletal remains was published in the June 2012 issue of Near Eastern Archaeology (Vol. 75, No. 2). The joint research project with Sonoma State, UC Berkeley and the Hearst Museum was conducted in the SF State biology department's anatomy lab.

Cinema
Associate Professor of Cinema Weimin Zhang presented her feature-length documentary film The Last Days of Beijing Hutongs (Missing Home) at the 66th Annual University Film & Video Association conference held in Chicago in early August. The film won an honorable mention award.

Health Education
Professor of Health Education Erik Peper's article "Hyperthermia and Immunotherapy in the Treatment of Cancer: The Gorter Model" was published in Townsend Letter -- The Examiner of Alternative Medicine (349/350, pp. 83-91). He also gave the invited presentation, "I have cancer, what do I do now?," Aug. 17 at the Northwest Community College, Smithers, BC, Canada.

International Programs
Associate Vice President for International Education Yenbo Wu authored "Regional Globalism and International Higher Education in Asia," which appeared in NAFSA News on Aug. 28 under "Trends and Insights for International Education Leaders."
