Creative Arts
Professor of Design and Industry Ricardo Gomes presented "Design for Living: Creating an Inclusive LifeSpace for the Aging" on Aug. 14 at the Institute for Human Centered Design in Boston.

Design and Industry Lecturer Nasser Jalali participated in an Aug. 28 webcast panel presented by Sustainable Minds on "Creating Knowledge Workers for the Greener Product Marketplace, Part Three: Integrating Ecodesign and Lifecycle Assessment."

College of Liberal and Creative Arts Associate Dean Todd Roehrman was costume designer for the Shakespeare Santa Cruz production of "Twelfth Night," which was performed July 24 - Aug. 26.

Assistant Professor of Art Matt Lipps' solo exhibition "HORIZON/S" is on display at the California Museum of Photography at University of California, Riverside, through Oct. 27.

Psychology
Associate Professor of Psychology Amy Smith received the 2012 Wall Alumni Service Award from her alma mater Grinnell College. The award comes with a $25,000 prize to be used for a service project; Smith will use the funds to develop a course to help formerly incarcerated individuals make a successful transition to community life.
