Professor of Cinema Jameson Goldner participated in a panel discussion of blacklisting by the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). The program was held at the San Francisco Jewish Community Center in conjunction with the performance of "Zero, The Life of Zero Mostel."
Labor Employment Studies
Associate Professor and Director of Labor and Employment Studies John Logan presented his paper "The Legal Enforceability of Global Frame Work Agreements in the United States" at the Freedom of Association in Private Transnational Law conference at Queen's University, Canada on Oct. 29. Logan also provided to CNN Europe analysis of the Qantas contract disagreement on Oct. 29.
Social Work
Three faculty members of the School of Social Work presented at the 57th Annual Program Meeting of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) in Atlanta, GA, Oct. 27-30. Assistant Professor of Social Work Yeon-Shim Lee presented a paper on "Elder mistreatment: The roles of sociocultural contexts on perceptions and help-seeking behaviors in Chinese and Korean immigrants," and Assistant Professors of Social Work Candy Madrigal and Jocelyn Hermoso were part of an inter-disciplinary panel of CSU professors presenting on "Addressing Critical Issues in Teaching: Social Justice Pedagogy Across Disciplines." Hermoso also presented a paper on "Critical Issues in Teaching: Confronting Disparity and Inequality through Social Justice Pedagogy."
