Assistant Professor of Accounting Chun Chia Chang presented, "Earnings Management and Earnings Predictability," at the American Accounting Association annual meeting Aug. 2 in San Francisco.

Jewish Studies
Marc Dollinger
, the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Chair of Jewish Studies and Social Responsibility, delivered a talk on American Jewish Life in the West to the Phoenix, Arizona Jewish Community on Sept. 1.

Management
Associate Professor of Management Mitchell Marks co-wrote the book, "Joining Forces: Making One Equal Three in Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances Revised and Updated Second Edition," which was published in August.

Assistant Professor of Management Charlotte Fillol presented "Applying Rules or Not? Dilemma in French Nuclear Power Plants," at the Academy of Management annual meeting in Montreal on Aug. 7.

Assistant Professor of Management Antoaneta Petkova presented, "Building Reputation for New Technology Ventures," at the Academy of Management annual meeting in Montreal on Aug. 9. She also presented, "Venture Capital Investments in Cleantech: An Act of Passion or Another Bubble-in-the-Making?"

Professor of Management Ron Purser presented, "The Dilemmas of Management: Zen, Koans and Creativity," as part of the Management, Spirituality and Religion Interest Group at the Aug. 8 Academy of Management annual meeting in Montreal.

Assistant Professor of Management Jennifer Tosti-Kharas presented "Crowdsourcing Content Analysis for Behavioral Research: Insights from Mechanical Turk," at the Academy of Management annual meeting in Montreal on Aug. 9.

Tosti-Kharas also presented "Moving Away, Moving On, or Staying Locked In: Narratives of Coping with Unemployment," and "Daring to Care for Early Career Faculty: Innovative Models to Support Transition and Foster Success," at the Academy of Management annual meeting in Montreal.

Marketing
Professor of Marketing Bill Perttula moderated the panel, "Social Media and Cloud Computing," at the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce's CitySummit 2010, on Aug. 31.

Assistant Professor of Marketing Ian Clark Sinapuelas and Assistant Professor of Marketing Deanna Wang presented "The Effect of Parent Brand Experience, Variety Seeking, and Consumer Innovativeness on Line Extension Trial," at the American Marketing Association Summer Marketing Educators' Conference in Boston on Aug. 16.

Theatre Arts
Professor of Theatre Arts John B. Wilson designed the scenery for the Theatreworks production of the musical, The Light in the Piazza, at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.
